Mr. R reached to Kikusui Electronics web site and found some compact AC source lineups, and eventually contacted with the Kikusui sales. Mr. R was introduced of compact AC/DC power supply, PCR-WE/WE2 Series featuring various functions. PCR-WE/WE2 Series has 15 lineup from 1kVA to 36kVA. The 6kVA model consists of a 6kVA power unit in 4U height.
Dimension of the 6kVA model is 16.9in.(430mm) width, 24.4in.(620mm) depth, and 13.5in.(345mm) height including caster. Mr. R recognized the PCR-WE/WE2 Series had compact design with high energy density. Compared to the company’s own used AC source, it drastically realized space-saving design. By this downsized AC source, entire test bench could be compact, that allowed Mr. R to configure multiple test environments. Mr. S was convinced to consider introducing the PCR-WE/WE2 Series.
Engineers praised the new test environment capable of conducting accurate power supply test efficiently.
Kikusui offered a demonstration model on loan. Mr. R and his company evaluated the PCR6000WE2 and confirmed the higher performance compared to their own equipment in use. The PCR-WE/WE2 Series equips with various communication interface as standard such as LAN (LXI), USB, and RS232C, and supports various power supply simulation. Mr. R also noticed that the PCR-WE2 Series had the capability of 3-phase output. The PCR-WE2 Series runs at high efficiency, cutting down energy losses. It comes equipped with various features such as power supply simulation, power line simulation function and sequence function. Thus enabling the budget and space to be utilized more efficiently. Mr. R decided to introduce the PCR-WE/WE2 Series after realizing it was highly evaluated for the performance by engineers. Especially engineers noticed the effectiveness in the new test environment allowing them to concentrate on the development. The introduction of the PCR-WE dramatically changed company P’s development environment. PCR-WE/WE2 Series allows parallel operation, capable of configuring up to 144kVA system. Mr. R said, “Considering the compact size for the power, it could be considerably downsized system, compared to our conventional AC source in use.” This motivated Mr. R to configure planed multiple test environment with support from Kikusui.
