After failing to find the solution despite Mr. U’s efforts, he gained information of Kikusui Electronics Corp. from his predecessor who explained that the Kikusui’s AC power supplies were being used at the company. He eventually consulted with sales of Kikusui about the issue and learned of PCR-WE/WE2 Series. It was an AC/DC power supply that enables to expand power by combination of the many different configuration with each of the models.

Mr. U noticed that the available frequency bandwidth is very wide, it is from 1Hz to 5kHz to support compliance test for airborne equipment. And the PCR-WE/WE2 Series covers the power range from 500VA to 144kVA. Mr. U was motivated to try a demo unit of the PCR-WE/WE2 Series.

Kikusui offered a demonstration model of PCR6000WE2 on loan. Mr. U and his company evaluated the unit and confirmed the high performance and the capability to be used for various applications. Switching the operation mode from single-phase to three-phase operation expands in applications, that allows the PCR6000WE2 to be shared with other engineers at different departments. Mr. U also noticed how compact the PCR6000WE2 is, compared to their own AC power supplies in use. The compact design assured him that it saves the installation space.

Mr. U submitted a budget request to introduce the PCR-WE/WE2 Series to their top management. This time, he got the approval from the management, considering the expandability to increase the power capacity effectively. The introduction of the PCR-WE/WE2 Series allowed Mr. U to expand the power as the need arises. This encouraged Mr. U to increase the power capacity of the power supply efficiently with support from Kikusui, based on their future projects.
